Addis Ababa - In statement on Saturday, Spokesman of Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said that Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shourky welcomed the positive developments in the bilateral relations with Congo, and expressed his keenness on increasing horizons of cooperation between the two countries. Congolese Foreign Minister Leonardo Okitundu asserted his country's firm stance towards the framework agreement of Nile Basin states which support concord in stances among Nile Basin countries and not inking Entebbe agreement. This came on Saturday during a meeting between Shoukry and Okitundu on the sidelines of the participation in the meetings of the 31st regular meeting of the executive council at the level of foreign ministers of the African Union. Both sides took up means to boost bilateral ties along with regional issues of mutual interest. Shoukry said that Egypt is looking forward to increasing economic cooperation and trade exchange between both states, Abu Zeid added. The meeting tackled the results of the recent summit of the Nile Basin states in Uganda along with bilateral coordination between both countries in the international gatherings on the internal situation in Congo. Meanwhile, Okitundu voiced Congo's keenness on resuming cooperation with Egypt in all the fields especially in the domain of renewable energy.
