Cairo- Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain are accusing Qatar's Charity Organization of supporting and funding different terrorist operations and contributing to funding terrorism through the donations gathered by these organizations from individuals and entities inside and outside Arab nations. Since its establishment as a non-governmental organization in 1992, the Qatar Charity Organization announced that its objective is to develop the Qatari society and other societies, regardless of color, gender, religion, race, or nationality. Stemming from this noble cause, the organization started its work in several Arab countries under the guise of sustainable development, fighting poverty and providing relief to those afflicted by emergencies [and urgent situations]. Western diplomats are also saying that Qatar's government is allowing or even encouraging the funding of extremists, such as Al-Qaeda's branch in Syria. Later, the organization entered Egypt through its participation as a founding member of the Arab Network of NGOs, an Arab non-governmental development organization based in Cairo. It is active in various Arab countries and considered by the Ministry of Social Solidarity as one of the foreign organizations operating in Egypt. It has since started pumping money to stimulate the work of this organization and others within Egypt. Qatar Charity has also received consultative status with the Organization for Islamic Cooperation. The organization has several branches in different countries, mainly in Palestine, Sudan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Niger, Mauritania, Somalia, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Mali, Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Britain and Turkey. The Qatar Charity Organization has also financially supported terrorists in Yemen, especially Al Qaeda which would transfer the injured to Qatar to receive medical treatment. The support and funding activities of political organizations linked to the Muslim Brotherhood in a number of Yemeni governorates has also been revealed to be under the pretense of a charity organization. In 2016, the organization supported terrorists with more than half a billion dollars.
