Statement: Egypt cuts ties with Qatar, cites support for terrorist groups

Cairo - Egypt said on Monday it cut ties with Qatar, accusing the Gulf Arab state of supporting "terrorist" organizations including the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's state news agency reported. In a statement by its foreign ministry, Egypt said that Qatar ignites the terrorism in (Egyptian) Sinai Peninsula and promote extremist thoughts among Egyptian people.
