Egyptian-German business forum to convene in Berlin in June

Cairo - Egypt's Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Kabil said the Egyptian-German business forum will convene in Berlin next month with an expected high-profile participation of Egyptian and German companies operating in the various fields.
The minister's remarks were made following his meeting with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GACIC) Andreas Hagen as the two sides discussed means of bolstering trade and investment cooperation between the two countries as well as the future of economic relations.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Saturday 20/05/2017, the minister said the meeting took up the conditions of the German investments in Egypt and means of expanding economic relations. The minister noted that Germany is one of the most important economic partners of Egypt in Europe.
The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Germany hit 5.567 billion euros in the past year. German investments in Egypt reached 619 million euros in the sectors of chemical materials, automobiles, communication, petroleum and gas, steel and iron.
The CEO of GACIC said the Egyptian participation in the Egyptian-German forum will reflect the positive view of the German business community towards working on the Egyptian market. The forum is expected to review Egypt's vision for 2030 and means of pushing ahead bilateral relations and exploring investment potentials in Egypt.
