Cassation prosecution recommends rejecting Morsi's appeal against prison sentence

Cairo - The Prosecution of Cassation on Saturday recommended the rejection of the appeal filed by toppled President Mohamed Morsi and 10 others against death and prison sentences in the case known in the media as "espionage with Qatar."
The prosecution upheld the rulings issued by Cairo Criminal Court sentencing Morsi and his secretary Amin al-Serafy to 40 years in prison over charges of the embezzlement of documents and running an illegal group. The prosecution upheld the court ruling sentencing Morsi's office director Ahmed Abdel Aaty to life in prison, and sentencing Ahmed Afify, Mohamed Adel Kilany and Ismail Thabet Ismail to death.
The cassation prosecution also recommended the rejection of the public prosecution's appeal against the acquittal of Morsi and seven others for charges of leaking national security documents to a foreign country in the same case.
