A number of world leaders and international organizations condemned Sunday the bombing of St. George Church, which left 26 people dead and 75 others wounded. Russian President Vladimir Putin, the European Union, Iraqi Foreign Ministry and King Abdullah II of Jordan have all condemned the church's bombing and expressed their sincere condolences to the families of the victims. Meanwhile, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi condemned the bombing and expressed his condolences to the victims' families, stressing that the treacherous terror attack is aimed at the homeland with its Copts and Muslims alike. He explained, terrorism will never undermine the determination of the Egyptians and their will to confront the forces of evil, adding it will only feed their resolve to overcome hardships and achieve security, stability and comprehensive development of their country. The explosion occurred during Palm Sunday celebrations holiday, which the government gives as a holiday for Copts, as most of them go to churches to pray.
