TV anchor Ahmed Moussa appealed against the 6-month n prison sentence issued by Misdemeanor Court, for leaking confidential calls of top officials in the state through his TV daily show ‘Ala Masoolity- On my Responsibility,' al-Bawaba News reported. On Wednesday, Misdemeanor Court sentenced Moussa to six months and fined him five thousand EGP (277.82 $) to suspend the sentence, over leaking classified calls between former Chief of Staff Samy Anan with former Vice President Mohamed el-Baradei during the events of January 25, 2011 uprising. The court explained its verdict that Moussa violated inviolability of private life, and airing a private classified call on Sada el-Balad TV channel, which jeopardize national security. Moussa is prominent TV anchor in Egypt, who brought wide controversy among media workers, law experts and audience, due to his controversial performance on screen. The TV anchor was sentenced to two years for insulting politician Osama el-Ghazaly Harb on air, former leader of the Democratic Front Party, after he [Moussa] accused him of conspiring against Egypt and receiving illegal foreign funding, but the sentence was revoked. Controversial TV presenter is known for his inflammatory statements, he accused the UK Ambassador to Egypt John Casson of previously working for the UK intelligence services. Previously, Moussa aired explicit images of movie director and parliament member Khaled Youssef, ended with no legal action, following the apology of Moussa on air.
