UAE plans for world's tallest tower with $1 bln cost
Published in Albawaba on 03 - 04 - 2017

UAE plans to construct another mega tall skyscraper, that is supposed to be the world's tallest one, with a total cost of one billion dollars, Emaar Properties said.
The new tower, to be built in Dubai, is expected to be taller than Dubai's tallest construction, Burj Khalifa that reaches 2,717 feet high.
The giant project will be carried out by the UAE public joint-stock Emaar Properties company.
The planned tower will be decorated with balconies overlooking high landscape, inspired by the legendary Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Emaar chairman, Mohammed al-Abbar said.
Abbar stated, "The new tower will attract a new group of homeowners looking for a great view".
"The new tower will be higher than the 2717-feet Khalifa Tower, he added, without revealing the new tower's expected height.
The tower is due to be inaugurated during the Expo 2020 Festival which Dubai won the rights to hold.
Unlike the Khalifa Tower, the new one cannot be a traditional skyscraper, but it will have a garden with a roof full of trees and other green spaces, Emaar announced.
The company added its new construction would have a luxurious hotel, restaurants and glass terraces.
The new tower will be located within the 2.3mile square development hub, near a wildlife reserve that regularly attracts a lot of water birds.
Emaar's new announcement coincided press reports on a blaze that hit the Fountain Views Tower in Dubai, that was being built by Emaar. Civil Defense squads managed to extinguish the fire without reporting any casualties.
