Cairo - Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry stressed the importance of the role played by Arab countries to maintain Libya's unity and protect the Libyan institutions. The minister made the statements during a meeting with Arab league Special Envoy to Libya Salah el-Din el-Gamali. The Skhirat agreement should be the basis for restoring Libya's stability and activating the role of Libyan institutions, the top Egyptian diplomat noted. Egypt is keen on continuing efforts aimed at reaching a consensus agreement between all parties, he noted. Shoukry added that Egypt will host a meeting of the foreign ministers of Libya's neighboring countries in the coming period to discuss the Libyan crisis. Gamali, for his part, praised the role played by Egypt to reach a political settlement to the Libyan crisis. He also briefed Shoukry on the outcome of his contacts with Libyan parties and initiatives launched to settle the Libyan crisis.
