Tunisia - The spokesperson of the Tunis first instance court and judicial centre of countering terrorism 'Sofiene Selliti' asserted that the confessions of the two Libyan terrorists on the execution of the journalists 'Sofiene Chourabi' and 'Nadhir Ktari' contain the same information previously provided by two Egyptian witnesses. The latter had told the Tunisian investigating judge during his presence in Libya that the two journalists were killed and buried in a farm in Derna. But for security reasons, it was not possible for the investigating judge to visit the farm and a rogatory letter was given to the Libyan authorities to continue the investigation, he said. Sofiane Chourabi and Nadhir Ktari, two Tunisian journalists working for Tunisia's First TV, disappeared in Libya on 7 September 2014 So far, Tunisia has received no reply on the fate of the abducted journalists, Selliti said, considering that the testimony of the two Egyptians can be used as proof only after the genetic analyses, the examination of the bodies and possibly an autopsy. One of the Libyan terror suspects interrogated Saturday by the private channel "Libya Al Hadath" said that Tunisian journalists were executed in the forest of Derna, for having harmed the image of the prophet Mohamed. In a statement issued earlier today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it grants great importance to these statements, ensuring that the necessary legal and diplomatic measures have been taken and that coordination is under way to verify this information.
