Former jihadist 'Nabil Naim' denounced in a statement to Al-Bawaba News Portal, calls by some public figures for a reconciliation or settlement with Muslim Brotherhood (MB) terrorist group. Naim said on Saturday that all the justifications used by these political figures to encourage public opinion to accept the idea of reconciliation are 'unacceptable', explaining that the MB and all its ideas are a threat to the Egyptian state, adding that 'accepting the terrorist group again in the political scene means a major setback for the June 30 revolution'. The June 2013 Egyptian protests, also called June 30 Revolution, were mass protests that occurred in Egypt on 30 June 2013, marking the one-year anniversary of Muslim Brotherhood member Mohamed Morsi's inauguration as president of Egypt. Naim pointed out to Al-Bawaba that what human rights activist Dr. Saad Eddin Ibrahim, who advocates the idea of reconciliation, calling for is orchestrated by the US and Qatar to save the MB, stressing that the Egyptian state is obligated to resist this pressure and not to give the MB a chance to remain in the political scene. Regarding the MB publicly admitting its involvement in violence, he said that the group would continue its violent acts, refusing to believe the possibility of halting terrorist attacks in various governorates, including Sinai. He added that any rapprochement with the terrorist group is 'a loss for the Egyptian state'.
