TEHRAN (FNA)- The Syrian Army troops continued to push the ISIL back from more positions in Western Raqqa and captured a small but strategic town around 40 kilometers away from Tabaqa airbase in the province. The Syrian army men stormed the ISIL strongholds and drove the terrorists back from the town of Birambaj after hours of non-stop battle, which also ended in the killing or wounding of several militants and destroyed their military hardware in large scale. In relevant development on Sunday, the Syrian army troops and National Defense Forces advanced around 8 kilometers into the depth of ISIL strongholds in Western Raqqa and took control over more territories in the region. The Syrian pro-government forces, in hours of non-stop battle, hit the ISIL strongholds hard in Western Raqqa and captured Syriatell towers and reached to the crossroad of Abu Alaj. The ISIL left behind scores of the dead and wounded members and fled the battlefield. The Syrian soldiers also advanced around 10 kilometers along Ithriya road to Tabaqa.
