Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following with great concern the death of Egyptian national Sharif Adel Mikhail, who was found burned to death in his car in a suburb of London, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said Wednesday. In an official statement, Abu Zeid added that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry instructed the Egyptian Consulate General in London to immediately contact British authorities to express Egypt's expectation of an urgent, transparent and impartial investigation into the incident that reveals its causes and holds those responsible for it accountable in the fastest time possible. On a different note, the Foreign Ministry hopes that the British Embassy in Egypt will understand the humanitarian aspect and the special circumstances associated with this tragic incident, which require the embassy to facilitate travel for members of the victim's family who wish to travel to London to provide assistance to the parents. The embassy should not allow bureaucratic issues to deprive the family of the deceased from the support they urgently require in these difficult times, the foreign ministry announced.
