The daily star Egypt's Nilesat stops broadcasting Al-Manar Egyptian satellite provider Nilesat has stopped carrying the Hezbollah-run Al-Manar news channel to its subscribers for "provoking sectarian strife," Lebanon's National News Agency said Tuesday. The report also said the company informed the Telecommunications Ministry of its intention to end operations in Lebanon starting 10 a.m. Wednesday when a contract signed with the government expires. Al-Manar has "violated the contract by broadcasting shows that provoke sectarian strife and sedition," the NNA said, adding that the company stopped carrying Al-Manar at 8 a.m. Egypt time Tuesday.
