Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail instructed minister of state for migration affairs, Nabila Abdel Shaheed to head to Sudan to check on 26 Egyptian students, including girls, detained there, Al Bawaba News reported Tuesday. A group of Egyptian students have been detained by Sudanese authorities for allegations of leaking an exam material belonging to Sudanese high school. Ismail has communicated to Abdel Shaheed, the importance of establishing coordination between Sudanese authorities and the Egyptian embassy in Sudanese capital, Khartoum in order to resolve the problem immediately. He urged Abdel Shaheed to constantly inform him with the latest developments concerning the problem of detained Egyptians in Sudan. Upon her arrival to Sudan, she checked on the situation of the detained students and met with their parents. She confirmed that she will follow up on the issue and look into procedures which can be taken in order to ensure the release of the students.
