Egypt's civil aviation authority says the EgyptAir plane has been hijacked while flying from the coastal city to the capital. A Cypriot government official said the hijacked plane landed at an airport in Larnaka and there are suspicions of a bomb on board. A second Cypriot official said there "seems like there's more than one hijacker". He said there have been no demands other than that police vehicles move away from the aircraft. Cyprus media are reporting one hijacker is thought to be strapped with explosives. The statement from the Egyptian aviation authority says the MS181 is an Airbus and that it has 55 passengers on board and five crew members. However EgyptAir tweeted: "Egypt air plane was an Airbus 320 Flight 181, carrying 81 passengers."
