Head of Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish announced that 246 Ships weighing 12.9m tons have transited the canal in the last five days, Youm7 News reported Friday. Mamish pointed out that 126 ships weighing 7.2m tons have transit from the north gate, adding that 116 ships weighing 5.7m tons have transited from the south. The largest ship that transited the canal from the north was the Danish ship "MUNKEBO MAERSK" coming from Netherlands, heading to Singapore weighing 200,000 tons, while the largest ship that transit from the south was the Danish "MORTEN MAERSK" weighing also 200,000 tons.
