Ministry of interior revealed Sunday that a police sergeant was shot dead by unidentified assailants in front of his home in the city of Arish, northern Sinai governorate, Al-Bawaba News reported. Masked gunmen have opened fire on police sergeant, Abdullah Khalil Abdel Jawad Khalil, who was stationed at northern Sinai security directorate, in front of his home near Arish police station, leaving him dead, a ministry statement confirmed. Security forces moved quickly to the crime scene and set up a security cordon to search for any potential threat and for investigators to begin their work by gathering statements of eyewitnesses and collecting evidence.
