Policeman shot dead by armed men in Egypt's Al-Arish
A police sergeant was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire from a passing car in the North Sinai border town

Unidentified armed men shot dead a police sergeant in North Sinai on Wednesday, according to Al-Ahram's Arabic news website.
Security sources said that the armed men, who were driving a car, fired at Sergeant Mahmoud Hassan in Obour district next to Zeraa police station in the border town of Al-Arish.
Security forces are searching the area for the assailants.
Security forces have been fighting Islamist militants in the Sinai Peninsula since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi last July. Over 500 security personnel have been killed as the violence has also spread to other parts of Egypt including the capital.
