African Development Bank chairman Okinoa Adesina said that Africa has promising economic opportunities and can achieve progress, calling on African states to remove barriers and obstacles so that people can celebrate the future of "open and prosperous Africa". Mr. Adesina urged, in his 2016 African business forum speech, the African countries to increase the pace of growth, confirming that the bank is committed to providing more to achieve development in the continent. "The African continent should be proud of achieving the required progress, and I think that President al-Sisi is moving at a rapid pace, especially after the opening of the new Suez Canal so I ask you to thank the Egyptian citizens for financing the project from their own pockets," he added.
