Egypt supports development efforts in Eritrea: Sisi

President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi met Monday Eritrea's minister of foreign affairs, Osman Saleh Mohamed and Eritrea's ambassador in Cairo, to discuss bilateral relations, Al Bawaba News reported.
Egyptian minister of foreign affairs, Sameh Shoukry attended the meeting, which was held at the presidential palace in Misr El Gedideh district.
Spokesman for the presidency, Alaa Youssef revealed that Mohamed conveyed a message from Eritrean President, Isaias Afwerki to Al Sisi, which focused on the importance of developing the bilateral relations between both countries in various fields.
The Eritrean minister stressed on the importance of strengthening consultation and coordination between Egypt and Eritrea on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
He noted that his country regards Egypt as one of the most important pillars of stability in Africa, especially in light of the challenges and conflicts which face the continent.
Al Sisi asked the Eritrean minister to convey his greetings to Afwerki, stressing Egypt's keenness on continuing consultation and coordination with Eritrea on various issues, in light of the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries.
The president also pointed out that Egypt will continue to support development efforts in Eritrea and looks forward to strengthening cooperation between both countries in order to achieve common objectives.
The spokesman explained that the meeting tackled the latest security developments in the African continent, particularly with regard to the fight against terrorism and extremism.
