Egyptian police forces raised security alert following a failed roadside bombing in Al-Arish, North Sinai, Al-Bawaba News reported Wednesday. Militants planted an improvised explosive device on the side of the coastal road targeting a police patrol. Police sources revealed that the area was combed in anticipation of any potential threats after the explosion which left no casualties. Check points have been installed and intensive security measures have been staged while explosives experts defused another improvised bomb south of Sheikh Zuweid. A number of suspects were arrested and investigated on the back of the bombing.
