Minister of international cooperation, Sahar Nasr will make a speech Saturday at inauguration ceremony of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), in Chinese capital Beijing, Al Bawaba News reported. This comes after Prime Minister, Sherif Ismail appointed Central Bank of Egypt's (CBE) Governor, Tarek Amar as Egypt's governor to the AIIB and Nasr as his deputy. Sources within the ministry revealed in a statement to Al Bawaba that the decision to appoint the minister came as a surprise to her. The sources who spoke to Al Bawaba on condition of anonymity, said that she will prepare a detailed report on the outcome of her discussions with AIIB's president and the heads of the participating delegations, to submit it to President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. Nasr also discussed the development of several proposals for projects, of which Egypt could benefit from the bank in. This step comes in preparation for Al Sisi's meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping in Cairo, which is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, the sources pointed out. Egypt's membership in the bank helps it to diversify its loan sources for investment projects in infrastructure, especially in energy, electricity and agricultural projects, the sources added.
