Yemen's national army and resistance seized a key coup rebel military camp in Sanaa governorate, the first major insurgent position to fall to the legitimacy in the conflict in the Arab country, the army said on its Facebook page. Army and resistance units occupied the Republican Guard military camp in an offensive against rebel positions in the northern areas, it said. The national army and its allies seized the first Republican Guard camp in Bait Dahra in Nahm town in Sanaa governorate," the army said. The offensive on Sunday was backed by raids by the Arab coalition warplanes against Iranian-backed Houthis and their allies in Sanaa, military sources said. The jets targeted the Nahdain military camp near the Presidential Court in Sanaa and residents reported heavy explosions in the area followed by anti-aircraft gunfire. Residents in the capital Sanaa said they also heard missile explosions on Naqam Mountain in Eastern Sanaa, where the legitimate army and resistance are advancing. In Al Jawf governorate North of Sanaa, the Saudi-dominated coalition and its allies continued to mass troops, tanks and other heavy weapons. "These mobilizations are nearly complete...the forces in that area are now awaiting orders to advance towards Sanaa and Saada," a military source said.
