Indian ambassador in Cairo, Sanjay Bhattacharyya said Friday that trade exchange between Egypt and India reached nearly $ 3 billion, Youm7 News reported. This came during Bhattacharyya's meeting with members of the Chamber of Commerce in Egypt's eastern city of Ismailia. Bhattacharyya explained that there are continuous efforts between the governments of the two countries to increase the volume of economic exchange between Egypt and India, as well as supporting cooperation among both sides. He pointed out to the depth of historical relations between Egypt and India's government and people. He stressed that the territory of the Suez Canal occupies the focus of the Indian government due to its geographical strategic location. Moreover, he added that there are ambitions and promising prospects for further various Indian investments in the region, as India had invested largely in existed projects on the ground in Ismailia several decades ago, within the framework of trade agreements between both countries.
