High Elections Committee (HEC) announced that 387 violations and abuses observed during the parliamentary run-off elections carried out in 13 governorates, Al-Bawaba News reported. During a press conference held at the State Information Service headquarters, HEC head Ayman Abbas said Friday the voting run-off witnessed minor violations compared to the first round of parliamentary elections. The violations rate of the run-off did not exceed 1%, mostly involving the delay in opening some polling stations and promoting for some candidates during the electoral silence period, Abbas added. Abbas pointed out that many international observers praised the electoral race, highlighting the peaceful voting and good organization in the polling stations. The governorates where the run-off of the second phase of elections were held include Cairo, Qaliubiya, Dakahlia, Menoufia, Gharbia, Kafr El Sheikh, Al Sharqia, Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, North Sinai and South Sinai governorates.
