The Cabinet gave approval for $3bn loan extended by World Bank to support the 2015/2016 state budget, Al-Bawaba News reported Wednesday. The Ministry of International Cooperation has contacted World Bank to support the state budget in the framework of the cabinet's program of economic and social reform, whereas the bank gave its approval to provide a loan of $3bn over three years. The reform program supports the state budget through three axes: the first is to direct the budget's savings to the social sectors, the second axis is to support the energy sector and benefit from renewable energy sources, and the third axis is to strengthen the investment environment by facilitating services provided to investors.
