The Egyptian presidency directed the ministries of education and higher education to renew the religious discourse in schools and universities to fight extremism and terrorism, and highlight the role of army and police in protecting the country, Al-Bawaba News reported. Governmental sources revealed that a new educational scheme will be applied in public schools next year, pointing out that the Minister of Education, Hilal Al-Sherbini addressed the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar to nominate specialized professors in Islamic education to amend the school religious curriculum. The scheme includes increasing the religious and historical lessons along with focusing on the positive characters that affected the Egyptian history and civilization, as well as holding seminars to discuss the historical events in Egypt.
