Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed on Monday the Syrian crisis during a meeting the two leaders held on the sidelines of the G20 Summit currently underway in the Turkish resort city of Antalya, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The leaders also discussed the conflict in Yemen, where Saudi Arabia is leading a coalition against Houthi militants, as King Salman stressed the importance of reaching a political solution based on U.N. Security Council Resolution 2216. King Salman also called for doubling international efforts in the fight against terrorism, according to the SPA. Separately, the king also met with British Prime Minister David Cameron. The two leaders discussed the issued that occupied the summit's agenda in addition to reviewing bilateral relations, the SPA reported. The summit comes only a few days after attacks claimed by ISIS militant group killed 129 people across Paris. G20 leaders pledged to vamp efforts in the fight against terrorism.
