Ministry of Commerce Tarek Kabeel said Monday that Egypt is willing to provide necessary support to develop industrial sector in African countries, Al Bawaba News reported. This came during a meeting with the Kenyan parliamentarian delegation of the defense and foreign relations committee. The minister pointed out that developing industrial sector in African countries can be achieved through providing technical support for the establishment and management of industrial zones services, which contributes in increasing trade. Kabeel pointed out that the free trade agreement, which was signed with Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), Southern African Development Community (SADC) and East African Community (EAC), would boost the ability to provide support for the establishment of industrial zones services. He stressed that establishing logistics centers within African countries will enhance the joint economic relations of these countries, which Egypt is trying to achieve through the Suez Canal. Moreover, he noted to the possibility of establishing a logistic center at the port of Mombasa in Kenya, which will not only increase trade between Egypt and Kenya, but also between various countries in the region. He pointed out that countries, such as Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo can benefit a lot from such possibility.
