The Interstate Aviation Committee experts are taking part in analyzing the data retrieved from flight recorders of a Russian aircraft that crashed in Egypt, and will pass on their findings to the Russian Investigative Committee, the committee's spokesman Vladimir Markin said. On October 31, an Airbus A321 operated by Russian airline Kogalymavia crashed while flying from Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. All 224 people on board were killed. "The competent authorities of Egypt with participation of IAC experts are examining the recordings from flight recorders, which will later be passed on to the Russian Investigative Committee," Markin said. Preparation of a report based on the flight data recorders recovered from the crashed Russian Kogalymavia A321 will take from between one and four weeks, spokesman for the Egyptian government Hossam Kawish said Tuesday. Documents and objects relevant to the ongoing criminal investigation into the A321 crash have been fount at the crash site, Vladimir Markin said. "Thanks to this, investigators and [criminal experts] with the help of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, have found documents, objects and materials that are relevant to the criminal investigation. They will be examined and studied together with representatives of the competent authorities of Egypt." Egyptian authorities have considerably expanded the search area at the request of the Investigative Committee, Markin said.
