President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi ratified Tuesday six new petroleum agreements for oil and gas investments worth 2.2 billion dollars, Al Bawaba News reported. Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tariq Al-Mullah said that the new agreements include the oil and gas exploration in the Mediterranean area, Nile Delta, Western Desert and Gulf of Suez with the Italian, American and Tunisian companies. Mullah pointed out that there are four agreements between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Italy's Eni oil company for exploring in North Port Said, the Mediterranean Sea, Gulf of Suez and Delta regions of Nile with investments worth 1.2 billion dollars for the drilling of eight wells. He added that an agreement was signed between EGPC and American Apache Company to drill two wells in the Western Desert with investments worth $30 million.
