President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met Sunday, with the Minister of Transportation, Sa'ad el-Geioushy and Head of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), Abdel Aziz Seif to discuss development of the transportation system. Spokesman for Presidency, Ambassador Alaa Youssef announced that El Geioushy highlighted his ministry's urgent plan urgent to develop the transportation system in a comprehensive manner, Al Bawaba News reported. The minister addressed the efforts made by the ministry for the rehabilitation and development of the train and locomotive vehicles, which are made in cooperation with the AOI, including means to increase the number of trains and raise their efficiency. He also stressed on the development process carried out by the ministry to renew the infrastructure of the railway, including stations, signals and electrical systems, as well as upgrading the maintenance work. Youssef pointed out that Seif revealed the measures taken by the AOI to increase local manufacturing of trains and subways, which contributes to the development of national industry and reducing the demand on foreign exchange.
