Egyptian Irrigation Minister, Hossam Moghazi revealed that a German study affirmed possibilities to extend the lifetime of Aswan Dam, Al-Bawaba News reported Saturday. In a press statement, Moghazi said the study suggested the renovation of the 48 gates of Aswan Dam through converting the mechanic system to high-tech digital system to develop the dam's performance. The ministry's experts are studying the renovation project estimated at EGP 500m. Aswan Dam was erected in 1902 under the reign of Khedevi ِِِِِAbbas Helmi II.
