The Egyptian authorities on Thursday reopened Rafah border crossing point with the Gaza Strip to enable stranded travelers on the Egyptian side to return home, officials said. The crossing will only reopen for one day and in one direction, from Egypt to Gaza, said the Hamas-run corporation of crossings and borders, which belongs to the Gaza interior ministry. Rafah crossing has been closed in both directions for more than 55 days, except for opening in September for pilgrims headed to Saudi Arabia.
