Head of the Building Materials Division (BMD) of Cairo Chamber of Commerce, Ahmed Zaini stressed the need to raise the sales tax on cement companies from 5% to 10% to save state's financial resources, Al-Bawaba News reported. Zaini stated that the division filed a report to the Minister of Finance for examination, adding that the percentage applied on the cement companies will not affect the consumer final price, since the price control depends on the supply and demand. He stressed the need to apply the taxation, since the companies will collect it back from the merchants, and also will not cost any additional burdens, but will generate a return to the state treasury.
