A Palestinian who was shot and injured by Israeli forces during clashes near the illegal Beit El settlement in Ramallah is in critical condition, a lawyer for the Palestinian Authority ministry of prisoners' affairs said on Saturday. Tariq Barghouth said that the man, identified asMuhammad Othman Hussien Ziyada was shot in the head by live fire during clashes, and is being detained by Israeli authorities whilereceivinglife-saving treatments at Hadassah Hospital in occupied EastJerusalem. Barghouth visited Ziyada on Saturday and said that he still in the intensive care unit, and his life is in danger. He added that the Israeli courts will meet to extend his remand in coming days. Atleast four Palestinians were shot with 0.22 caliber bullets, leaving one in critical condition, in fierce clashes near Beit El settlement outside Ramallah on Saturday, medics told Ma'an. Israeli forces shot and injured at least 174 Palestinians with live and rubber-coated steel bullets across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem on Saturday, the Palestinian Red Crescent told Ma'an. Spokesperson Errab Foqaha said that 26 Palestinians were shot with live rounds and a further 148 with rubber-coated steel bullets. Some 408 Palestinians suffered excessive tear gas inhalation, she said, while four were violently beaten. Clashes were reported across occupied East Jerusalem, where earlier in the day Israeli forces shot dead three Palestinians, two of whom allegedly carried out stabbing attacks that injured four Israelis.
