One Libyan was arrested, Wednesday, by a national army patrol on the level of a checkpoint inside the buffer military zone of Oum El Korsane (Ben Guerdane). The individual in question arrived aboard a car transporting smuggled cigarettes, followed by a second vehicle. He went down on the level of the sand barrier to inspect the places before the arrival of the Tunisian traffickers, said spokesman of the Defence Ministry, Lieutenant-Colonel Belhassan Oueslati. When he saw the Tunisian military patrol, the two vehicles fled towards the Libyan territory leaving their accomplice on site, he added.
