Egypt's luminous columnist, Abdel Rehim Aly revealed that former presidential adviser, Mustafa Higazi, enjoyed a distinct rank within the former presidential institution, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. "On Jan.25 2011, Hegazi topped the highest building in Tahrir square, downtown Cairo, and launched the first smoke bomb as a signal to start assailing prisons and for security forces to withdraw from cities' main squares,' Aly stated. The reason behind Hegazi's move was to convince the public that the former Interior Minister, Habib Al-Adly was responsible of releasing prisoners to distract attention away from the activities of Hamas on the Egyptian eastern borders, Aly added. Aly, who runs for the upcoming parliamentary polls, became a popular figure since criticizing the deteriorated performance of the ousted president Mohamed Morsi when he was still in office.
