Sources revealed Friday that Islamic State (IS) offshoot Wilayat Sinai plans to launch a terrorist attack against Egyptian army soldiers and officers in response to the army's Martyr's Right security operation, Al Bawaba News reported. The sources pointed out that two fighters belonging to Palestinian Hamas movement traveled to Sinai in order to perform the operation against the Egyptian army, adding that the two fighters backed by terrorist groups in Sinai. They added that the militants are planning to launch their attack using a four wheel vehicle, targeting army and police personnel in North Sinai's Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid cities. The sources confirmed that Hamas will participate in the terrorist operation to respond to the destruction of the tunnels between Gaza strip and Sinai. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
