Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry chaired the Egyptian delegation at the meeting of the Arab foreign ministers that was held on the sidelines of the 70th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid stated Sunday. Abu Zeid pointed out that during the meeting the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories will be discussed, especially after the recent Israeli attacks against the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the developments of the Libyan crisis to reach a final agreement between the parties. Abu Zeid said that the foreign ministers adopted a statement during the meeting, which was prepared by Egypt and Palestine on the events on the Al-Aqsa Mosque, condemning the Israeli practices in East Jerusalem, Al-Aqsa Mosque in particular. He added that the statement calls for the Security Council to assume its responsibilities towards stopping such practices aimed at changing the situation on the ground. The Arab statement confirms the continuation of the resumption option of the tenth emergency special session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, with the possibility of resorting to in case of the non-stop Israeli attacks on the holy places in East Jerusalem.
