Egypt's People's Front for Antiquities Protection coordinator, Osama Karar revealed that Antiquities Minister's decision to assign a German expert for the restoration mission of Tutankhamun's golden mask violates the ministry's regulations, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. "It is not the first time that Antiquities Minister, Mamdouh Al-Damati flatters the German Egyptologists," Karar stated, pointing out that restoring the mask in the absence of an Egyptian Egyptologists could expose the mask to several risks. The Egyptian Antiquities Ministry regulations stress on the presence of national Egyptologists in the restoration process.
