Antiquities minister, Mamdouh Al-Damaty announced Saturday during a conference held at the Egyptian Museum in Cairo that Tutankhamun's mask is undamaged; pointing out that the mask's beard is not broken. He added that the restoration process of the mask witnessed a false use of "Epoxy" material, stressing that the restorers who made this mistake will be investigated. He pointed out that a committee accompanied by experts and archaeologists will put tomorrow a plan to restore King Tutankhamun's golden mask. German restoration expert, Christian Ekman said that despite the bad restoration, there's no danger on the King Tutankhamun's mask, which is treatable. He added that the mask's beard was not glued when it was discovered, saying that it was glued for the first time in 1944 and then re-glued with epoxy material in August 2014. Tutankhamun's gold mask is considered one of the most important Egyptian antiquities. It was discovered in 1922 by English Archeologist Howard Carter.
