President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi met Friday with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly Summit in New York, Al Bawaba News reported. Sisi praised the bilateral relations between Egypt and Turkmenistan, stressing on the importance of boosting bilateral cooperation between the two countries in various fields especially in gas, cotton, tourism and energy sectors. The president expressed his thanks to Berdimuhamedow for his country's support for Egypt's candidacy for the North Africa non-permanent UN Security Council seat for the years 2016-2017, inviting the President of Turkmenistan to visit Egypt. For his part, the Turkmen President invited Sisi to attend the conference that will be held in December under the auspices of the United Nations and attended by a number of heads of states to celebrate the 20th anniversary of announcing Turkmenistan as a neutral country.
