Central Bank of Egypt announced Wednesday that the total assets of the banking sector rose by% 11.7 to record 2.1 trillion pounds at the end of June instead of 1.96 trillion pounds at the end of the 2014 financial year, Al-Bawaba News reported. The cash reserves rose by more than EGP 4 billion to record EGP3.27 billion last June, securities and investment also rose in treasury bills by 12.3% with a total value estimated at EGP 7.111bn to reach EGP 1.01 trillion.
