Egypt's president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met Thursday Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the Palestinian-Israeli crisis, Al-Bawaba News reported. Al-Sisi affirmed that Egypt would continue supporting Palestine until the establishment of the independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital. Abbas praised al-Sisi's support to the Palestinian cause, expressing his gratitude to Egyptian efforts to push Arab and international efforts towards achieving a lasting and final settlement of the issue. Sisi stressed on the need to restore the Palestinian issue on the priorities of the international community and the continuation of the international efforts to revive the peace process based on the two-state solution. On the other hand, Al-Sisi welcomed the International Quartet's invitation to Egypt and other countries to discuss ways of reviving the peace process.
