Minister of Antiquities Mamdouh Damati held a press conference, Tuesday morning, at the headquarters of the Grand Egyptian Museum, where he revealed recent activities in various archaeological fields, Al-Bawaba Newspaper reported During the conference, Damati answered reporters' questions about different local and international concerns related to the antiquities sector. In 2001, Damati was appointed as general manager of Egyptian Museum, when the museum witnessed several far reaching activities including the development of its cellar, restoring old records of the museum, repairing the second chamber of royal mummies and establishing a restoration laboratory for papyrus in cooperation with Corrado Basile, head of Istituto Internazionale del Papiro, Siracusa in Italy.
