19 ships cross over Suez Canal in its first official working day

At least 48 ships have crossed over the Suez Canal, including 19 ships through the new canal, sources within the Suez Canal Authority told al-Bawaba News Friday.
The sources added that the ships that crossed the new canal were coming from the south, from Suez bound for Port Said city.
Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi inaugurated the new Suez Canal on Thursday. The project was praised by a large number of economic and investment experts who described it as a turning point in Egypt's economy. The event was attended by a large number of world leaders.
