Economic laws to be amended to facilitate investment

Egypt's Minister of Investment, Ashraf Salman revealed that the Economic Zone Law will be amended to include the Suez Canal axis development project, Al-Bawaba News reported Wednesday.
Salman stated that amendments had been submitted to the cabinet's economic group to be approved by the Supreme Legislation Committee before being submitted to the presidency to be officially decreed in June 23, 2015.
A presidential decree identifying geographical areas under the jurisdiction of the economic body that will be established to oversee the investment in the Suez Canal axis development project will also be issued, Salman added.
The cabinet's expected decree will permit establishing Suez Canal axis development authority which would be responsible for dealing with investors and receiving investor's feasibility studies as well as issuing licenses, he added.
