The head of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), Mohab Mamish said in an interview with al-Arabiya TV channel, that the increase of global trade growth rate will increase the profits of Suez Canal, al-Dostor News reported Sunday. "We will overcome the expected $13 billion profit and we will reach between $18 and $20 billion after the completion of the canal's axis project," Mamish stated. He stressed that the old Suez Canal was not affected by the difficult conditions experienced by the country over the past years, including the 25th of January 2011 Revolution, Rabia and Nahda sit-ins, as well as terrorism in Sinai. Furthermore, he pointed out that the canal has achieved the highest profit rate in the previous period. He noted that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi sees the need for the state to own the infrastructure that can achieve profits. He ensured that the inauguration ceremony of the new Suez Canal scheduled next Thursday will be fully secured by the Egyptian armed forces.
